While out promoting his new lullaby album, Nick Lachey made a stop at the Sing Your Way to Father’s Day event at Toys ‘R’ Us in New York City on Wednesday (June 13).
Excited for his very first Father’s Day with his son Camden, the 98 Degrees member dished to Us Weekly on how he’s planning to celebrate the upcoming holiday.
“We have a show in Brooklyn that night so he’ll [Camden] be here with me and my wife [ Vanessa Minnillo Lachey]. I’m sure she’s got something up her sleeve, but I’m the last to know,” Lachey said.
“I’m just glad we all got to spend Mother’s Day together,” Nick explained, “and now we get to spend Father’s Day together.”
As for what kind of gift he expects, the first time papa says, “We always do what we feel is appropriate, so I didn’t go crazy and I don’t think she will either. It means more to us to get something meaningful, and the most important thing is being able to spend it with Camden.”

Never too shy to share her own personal struggles, Demi Lovato talked about past suicidal thoughts in an interview with Rolling Stone.
Admitting that she’s battled depression from the tender age of 7, when she gained attention on “Barney & Friends,” the “Heart Attack” singer explained, “The principal called my parents and made me sign this suicide contract saying that I would not kill myself. They weren’t expecting that so young.”
Eventually heading to rehab in 2010, the 20-year-old songstress revealed how her parents supported her recovery.
Happy to help others, Demi shared, “My parents were like, ‘You have two choices. We can either shut it down and not talk about it, or you can tell people what’s up.’ There was no hesitation, really. I opened up that gate.”

On standing out from the rest of her peers:
“When I was in high school, I was so uncomfortable with myself. All my friends were blonde and blue-eyed. My mom is Filipino – but my friends’ nannies were Filipino.”
On being a role model to her fans:
“Even on social media, I like to post uplifting quotes because what else would I be doing? Just taking pictures of myself? Although I do that too. There’s always that fine line: Am I putting myself out there too much? Am I living my life through my phone?”
On her work with the Somaly Mam Foundation:
“Sexual exploitation was everywhere, and it really had an impact on me. When I came back from working with the girls, it was hard for me to talk to people. To be honest with you, my biggest dream is not to win an Oscar. For me, it’s to open up a Somaly Mam center in the Phillippines in the next few years.”
