Aerosmith’s Road to Reconciliation

Up until a few months ago, Aerosmith was slowly edging towards a break up due to their dynamic duo Steven Tyler and Joe Perry’s differences. Their problems first began when Tyler decided to accept the judging position on reality singing show “American Idol” without the consent of Perry and others.

They started bickering with each other in public, and resuming work for their next album “Music From Another Dimension!” certainly seemed difficult if not impossible. But suddenly the two quarrelers decided to put aside their differences and agreed to work together.

So what changed? Tyler explained to USA Today: “A year ago, nobody wanted to do an album. Now we’re all on the same page and we’ve been burning the candle at both ends. It all comes together when the band gets on stage. It’s nothing but beautiful and all the crap melts away. That’s when the band is a band, no matter what else is going on.”

Now on the verge of hitting the road for their promo tour “Global Warming,” Perry hinted that their rifts still exist, although they have now learnt to coexist with them. He said: “We don’t agree on everything. But the machine is bigger than the parts. We all know that. We sorted out what we had to sort out.

“Some personal things got overblown and a few things got misconstrued. We’ve been working together on the record for the last four months. Hey, if we didn’t have disagreements, something would be wrong and the record wouldn’t be what it is.”
