Gore Vidal, the author, playwright, politician and commentator whose novels, essays, plays and opinions were stamped by his immodest wit and unconventional wisdom, died Tuesday, his nephew said.
Katherine Jackson is apparently back home, reuniting with Michael Jackson's children after a judge temporarily took away her guardianship because of her days-long absence from them.
He’s been riding the wave of hype thanks to his hot new single, and Justin Bieber delivered the goods on the 2012 Billboard Music Awards stage tonight (May 20).
The “Baby” hitmaker thrilled the crowd by singing “Boyfriend,” dressed in a white and yellow getup complete with neon lights.
During the middle of the track, Biebs broke down and performed an extended dance remix, showing off his constantly-improving moves.
Prior to his performance, Justin accepted the trophy for Top Social Artist, declaring, “First of all, I just want to say how much of a blessing it’s been the past three, four years, just growing up in front of everybody.”
“I want to thank all my fans, ’cause the Internet is where I got my start. I want to thank my boy [and manager] Scooter Braun for all he’s done. He’s more than just a manager to me. I want to thank Usher. … He takes the time to really care. I just want to say ‘thank you so much’ to my mom and my dad and to God. I could keep rambling forever. I just want to thank you so much. Swaggie.”
Stopping by to chat about everything from his new music to relationships, Justin Bieber visited the “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Monday morning (March 26).
Before heading out for the morning radio appearance, the 18-year-old took to his Twitter page, writing, “brushing my teeth and heading over to talk it up with my brother @RyanSeacrest.”
Once situated in the studio’s guest chair, the “Never Say Never’ singer got candid with Seacrest about his new single, “Boyfriend,” which was just released at midnight on Monday and has already reached number one on iTunes in 16 countries!
When turning the conversation to his career, Justin was asked if he makes his career decisions off of what people expect or not, to which he answered, “There are so many people that are going to give opinions and tell me how my career should go, but im the only one who ultimately make those decisions because im going to have to live with my career for the rest of my life. So I have to make those decisions where I want my career to go.”
Aside from the extreme success the pop superstar is experiencing in the music business, his relationship with Disney starlet Selena Gomez is always a topic of discussion.
When talking about Gomez’s latest film, “Spring Breakers,” Bieber revealed that he is staying busy while she is gone by working all of the time, adding that she’s enjoying filming.
“Right now she’s killing it, she’s having so much fun with James Franco and a couple of other people. It’s a pretty wild movie, especially for her, so she’s excited to take on a challenge.”
Just how popular is Justin Bieber? He’s probably more popular than people believe. The teen pop star has beaten out other celebrities as being the most searched person on Bing in 2011, including last year’s most searched person, Kim Kardashian.
Bieber managed to make headlines throughout much of the year. He kicked off the year in the news media when he began dating former Disney actress and pop star, Selena Gomez. He regularly made the news as paparazzi would stalk him down or whenever he’d treat his mother or girlfriend to anything nice.
Each of these things certainly led to more people scoping him out on the net. Bieber spent much of the year on tour abroad and made news headlines over the summer when fans in South America attempted to break into his hotel room. A small group of fans had managed to bypass security and make it to the door of his hotel room.
In late October, the teen made news headlines yet again when a 20-year-old California woman, Marisa Yeater, claimed that Bieber was the father of her then three month old son. The singer maintained that he had never met the woman and that he was definitely not the child’s father. Yeater dropped her paternity claim and child support filing, but the 17-year-old manned up anyway and offered a DNA sample to prove to the world what he already knew.
Now as the year is drawing to an end, Bieber has continued to remain in the headlines with the release of his second album, a holiday venture of collaborations entitled ‘Under the Mistletoe.’
