Zooey Deschanel: Hard at Work on “New Girl”

Putting in a days work, Zooey Deschanel was on the set of “New Girl” in West Hollywood on Tuesday (January 22).

Decked out in a bright pink cape and black skinny pants, the “Elf” cutie took time between takes to study up on her lines as she sought solitude amongst the park-like scene.

Now in its second season, the popular comedy has gained quite a fan following for the adventures of Jess and her roommates.

A new episode of “New Girl,” titled “Cooler” will air on Tuesday, January 29 at 9/8 central on Fox.

Zooey Deschanel Covers Glamour February 2013

With her hit Fox series “New Girl” all set to resume its second season on January 8th, Zooey Deschanel garnered herself a little welcome attention by covering the February 2013 issue of Glamour magazine.

The soon-to-be 33-year-old actress looked fashionably fabulous in a Prabal Gurung dress with a Louis Vuitton necklace for the Ellen von Unwerth shot front page while joined by Miley Cyrus’ ex model flame, Justin Gaston, in the accompanying feature spread.

On working on her own terms:
“I just realized I am happier and do better work if I’m doing what I believe in.”

On not shying away from voicing her thoughts:
“I’ve never had a problem saying my opinions about things,” she said, adding, “I never stop myself from doing something because I’m afraid of what people might think.”

On getting along with other gals:
“I did go through this period where girls would be mean and I had a lot of guy friends. But I’ve found as an adult the importance of having female and male friends.”

Zooey Deschanel & Jamie Linden’s Pre-Turkey Day Togetherness

Showing that their relationship is still going strong, Zooey Deschanel and her screenwriter beau, Jamie Linden, were seen exiting a New York City hotel together on Wednesday (November 21).

The “New Girl” actress bundled up for the chilly east coast weather in a fur-trimmed jacket, white scarf, and rain boots as she and her man walked hand-in-hand past the awaiting shutterbugs.

The midweek outing marks only the second time that the couple has made a public appearance together since their relationship began six months ago.

In related news, with Thanksgiving right around the corner, Zooey recently dished to Rachael Ray about her plans for the holiday.

The 32-year-old actress explained that her own hit movie, “Elf,” is her favorite holiday flick, adding that she even bakes pecan pie for the festivities.

Zooey Deschanel: Reem Acra Adorable at the 2012 EMMY Awards

She’s always a sight to see, and on Sunday night (September 23) Zooey Deschanel had the red carpet buzzing as she arrived to the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

The “New Girl” actress left the others with envy as she donned a billowing blue Reem Acra gown for the Nokia Theatre LA Live held small screen celebration.

Taking care of hosting duties at this year’s Emmy Awards is late night funnyman Jimmy Kimmel while Zooey joining Jim Parsons in doling out a trophy while fellow presenters include names such as Claire Danes, Kerry Washington, Julianna Margulies, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Melissa McCarthy, Alec Baldwin and the beautiful Julianne Moore.

As for the nominees, HBO is the top network with 81 bids while “American Horror Story” and “Mad Men” are the show frontrunners with 17 chances at Emmy glory apiece.

Zooey Deschanel Dazzles at 2012 Fox Upfront

Out showing support for the home of her newest series, Zooey Deschanel was spotted working the black carpet at the 2012 Fox Upfronts event in New York City on Monday (May 14).

The “New Girl” beauty looked chic in a black skirt, white top with a cleavage-bearing cutout and a bright red lip while she posed for awaiting photographers during the star-studded evening.

Showing off what’s to come next season, FOX introduced new programs including “Ben and Kate,” which is a series that follows a brother who moves in with his sister to help her raise her daughter. The network also revealed new shows “The Mindy Project” and “Mob Doctor.”

Aside from news about the new programs, FOX used their upfront to also debut the new judges joining “The X Factor.” As previously reported by GossipCenter, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will be the newest faces to join the talent show along with veteran judge L.A. Reid and show creator/judge Simon Cowell.

SNL Recap: Zooey Deschanel Hosts, Karmin Performs

Utilizing her musical talents to kick off the show, Zooey Deschanel offered up a sweet song to begin her hosting efforts on yesterday’s (February 11) episode of “Saturday Night Live”.

The “New Girl” actress’ monologue saw her greet the studio audience and viewers at home with a ditty about the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday – with the lyrics based upon the unfortunate situation in which only one half of a couple remembers the lovers’ holiday is taking place.

During the course of the show, a favorite clip was a Weekend Update sketch titled “Get In The Cage” in which Nicolas Cage is joined by his clone, Nicolas Cage to talk about the industry and future projects.

Other segments included a Mitt Romney Primaries Cold Open in which the GOP hopeful gives his thoughts on the results of the Colorado, Missouri and Minnesota primaries, as well as clips like Patio Party, Newspaper and a three part Clint Eastwood Chrysler ad.

Joining Zooey on last night’s “Saturday Night Live” was musical Karmin, as the pop music duo consisting of Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan offered up performances of their songs “I Told You So” and “Broken Hearted” during the course of the show.
