Justin Timberlake & Michelle Obama: Memphis Soul Musical Workshop in D.C.

Lending his talents to educate others, Justin Timberlake joined First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House on Tuesday (April 9) in Washington, DC.

The “Suit & Tie” crooner was on hand to take part in a program called Soulsville, USA: The History of Memphis Soul with fellow musicians, including Mavis Staples and Charlie Musselwhite.

Hosted by Mrs. Obama, the student workshop included middle and high school students from across the country to teach them about the art of soul music and the hard work that goes in to being a musician.

Later on Tuesday, Timberlake will join the other panelists for a special “In Performance at the White House: Memphis Soul” concert.

Barbara Walters Hospitalized in Washington, D.C.

While visiting the home of the British Ambassador in Washington, D.C., Barbara Walters sustained a minor head injury.

After falling on a stair and cutting open her forehead, the 83-year-old journalist was rushed to the hospital.

According to a rep for ABC, “Out of an abundance of caution, she went to the hospital to have her cut tended to, have a full examination and remains there for observation. Barbara is alert (and telling everyone what to do), which we all take as a very positive sign.”

Originally scheduled to contribute to ABC News’ coverage of the Inauguration, she will reportedly not be on-air on Monday.

Flawless in a lacy blue patterned dress under a white trench coat, the “Hotel Noir” beauty had smiles for onlookers as she made her way out of Café Milano.

In town for President Obama’s swearing-in, the 33-year-old actress is slated to attend tonight’s Latino Inaugural 2013 at the Kennedy Center.

Hosted by Eva Longoria, the event will celebrate Latin culture in Washington. Also expected to attend are Antonio Banderas and Mark Anthony.

Jessica Sanchez’s Memorial Day Performance in Washington D.C.

Taking her talents to the nation’s capitol, Jessica Sanchez was on hand to perform at the 2012 PBS National Memorial Day concert in Washington, DC on Saturday (May 26).

The 16 year-old “American Idol” finalist looked adorable as she rehearsed in black skinny jeans and high top sneakers before changing into more formal outfits including a full-length blue gown and a white lace knee-length dress with strappy white heels for her official stage efforts of the National Anthem and Yolanda Adam’s tune, “The Prayer”.

Joining Jessica on stage for the annual holiday event were fellow music stars including Daughtry, Natalie Cole and country hitmaker, Trace Adkins.

The D.C. experience comes just after Miss Sanchez finished out Season 15 of “American Idol” as the runner up to winner Phillip Phillips.

Not taking the loss too toughly, Sanchez seemed thrilled to have made it as far as she did during a chat with media members, explaining, “I wasn’t nervous about anything. I was actually excited, because I really thought Phillip was going to win and I was so happy for him. I think he deserves it 100%. I was just happy to be there in the top two.”

Eva Longoria Hits D.C. to Campaign for President Obama

Paying a visit to the nation’s capital, Eva Longoria was spotted checking into her hotel in Washington, D.C. on Monday afternoon (March 19).

After getting settled into her room, the “Desperate Housewives” actress – who’s in town to help campaign for President Barack Obama’s re-election – headed out to grab dinner at Scion Restaurant in Dupont Circle.

Speaking with People magazine about her campaign re-election co-chair duties, Eva said, “I’m always nervous, It’s the President of the United States. You should always get nervous.”

The trip to D.C. comes just as Miss Longoria celebrated her birthday this past week – with the newly-single actress telling press that she’s looking forward to what lies ahead for her in the upcoming twelve months.

The now 37-year-old dished, “I feel very excited about my life and I’m excited about things to come, there are so many things on the horizon.”

George Clooney Hits Wahington, D.C. to Tackle Sudan Issues

Proving he’s not just a handsome stud with amazing acting skills, George Clooney is spending time bringing light to some serious issues in the violent Sudanese region of Africa.

The “Descendants” star met with South Sudan’s minister and a regional governor last week and, according to the Associated Press, he also crossed into the dangerous Nuba Mountains where civilians were forced to take shelter in caves because the region was under aerial military attack.

Since last year, the area has been rocked by conflict and a hunger crisis after South Sudan accused Sudan of stealing oil, then threatening to shut down the oil industry.

During one of Clooney’s most recent visits, the actor helped establish the Satellite Sentinel Project in hopes of ending violence by tracking military movements through satellite imagery.

Meanwhile, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is set to examine the oil dispute in Sudan during a hearing on Wednesday (March 14) – with George having been spotted arriving in the nation’s capital via Amtrak late Tuesday night.

Drew Barrymore Debuts “Big Miracle” in Washington, D.C.

After making a day-beginning appearance on “Good Morning America” in NYC, Drew Barrymore hit the road and made her way to the nation’s capital to screen her new movie “Big Miracle” on Wednesday night (January 25).

The recently-engaged actress was decked out in a colorful Ports 1961 frock as she posed arm-in-arm at AMC Loews Georgetown 14 with fiance Will Kopelman ahead of the film’s big Washington, D.C. debut.

Directed by Ken Kwapis, Drew’s new motion pictures is set in small town Alaska while finding “a news reporter recruit his ex-girlfriend – a Greenpeace volunteer – on a campaign to save a family of gray whales trapped by rapidly forming ice in the Arctic Circle.”

Also starring Kristen Bell, Dermot Mulroney, John Krasinski and Ted Danson, “Big Miracle” is set to hit theaters next Friday, February 3rd.
