Taylor Swift Covers Billboard November 2012

With her new album “Red” set to take over the charts on Monday (October 22), Taylor Swift garnered herself a little added exposure by covering the latest issue of Billboard magazine.

The 22-year-old country superstar looked darling in a white top with blue capris as she strummed her guitar for the Brian Doben shot spread while dishing all about her new album and readying for its release.

Highlights from Miss Swift’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Billboard!

On her new disc’s sound:
“I’m 22. I’m all over the place, so my record is all over the place. All these emotions are very loud and very different. At one end of the spectrum you have ‘Sad Beautiful Tragic,’ which is a breakup song in the form of a funeral march, and you also have ‘Never Ever Getting Back Together’ again, which is a breakup song in the form of a parade.”

On not playing her new material before it’s released:
“We’re really paranoid, knock on wood, about a leak. So we don’t even go near a song that hasn’t been released. We don’t even practice them.”

On efforts made in hopes of achieving big sales:
“The first step was to look at where we wanted the record to go. A worldwide release, really – we made that a priority. To me, the answer to every question of ‘Will you do this to promote the album?’ was ‘yes.’ My team has come up with brilliant ways to market this record, to expand the retail footprint. Selling an album in Walgreens, selling it at Papa John’s – these are all different ways that have so far been unexplored, so we’ll see what happens.”

Christina Aguilera Covers Billboard

With her new album “Lotus” set to drop on November 13th, Christina Aguilera proved she’s ready to make a musical comeback by landing on the September 29th, 2012 issue of Billboard magazine.

The 31-year-old singer looked gorgeous in a while loose knit sweater for the Enrique Badalescu shot front page while dishing about everything from her new album to taking a break from “The Voice.”

Highlights from Miss Aguilera’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Billboard

On her new album “Lotus:”
“This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the Lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands and harsh weather conditions in it’s surrounding, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years. Once I could start writing my own songs, beginning with “Stripped,” I tried to infuse as much as I could to promote strength and inspire people with that message.”

On taking a break from “The Voice:”
“It’s been a joy to be a part of other people’s journey, to be able to inspire and be a part of new singers coming up in the business, bit I was starting to get really worried and concerned that I wouldn’t have the time to go and be an artist again. I’ll probably be back. I just need to do my thing for a minute, then I can come back and be that much better of a coach. I just need a second to get back to me.”

On opening her schedule to go on tour:
My fans do deserve to see me back out on the road. It’ll be exciting for me. The road is a lot of work. I want to make sure the timing is right and that I’m fully ready to go, otherwise I would have to pull tickets if I’m not feeling it. I want to press the fact that I want to be feeling it before I go.”
