Britney Spears will be officially unveiled as the new jury panelist of “The X Factor”, according to latest reports emerging in the press.
Celebrity news website TMZ has claimed that the “Baby One More Time” crooner would soon take a flight for New York City, where the FOX network will present her to the media as the new judge in a press conference on Monday.
Spears is under a conservatorship, which means that even if the aforementioned report turns out to be true, she won’t be signing the $15 million X Factor deal herself. One of Jamie Spears (her dad) or Jason Trawick (her husband-to-be), who are her legal co-conservators, would have to do all the paperwork on her behalf.
The reports of her arrival on “The X Factor” have been in circulation for several months but FOX network’s officials have been careful not to divulge any info to the media yet. However, the reality talent show’s mastermind Simon Cowell did admit earlier this year that he would be ecstatic if Spears could join him on the jury panel for the next season.
In an interview with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, Cowell said: “I’m fascinated by [Britney.] The fact that she’s one of the most talked about – not just pop stars – but people in the world today, means that you’ve got this star power.”
“This girl has got resilience. I would think that if she’s managed to sustain a family, a career, which is tough, ['X Factor' would be] a walk in the park,” the former American Idol judge added.
