Courteney Cox and David Arquette Legalize It

After giving each other several chances of making their flailing marriage work, former “FRIENDS” star Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette have realized that their relationship is broken to the extent that it cannot be fixed ever again.

According to a report published by celebrity gossip mag US Weekly, the soon-to-be exes filed for divorce at the Los Angeles Superior Court last Friday and mentioned ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for them doing so.

Cox and Arquette got married in June 1999 and for many years; their smiley faces in the media made people believe that their relationship is perfect from every angle.

But after more than a decade of seemingly successful marriage, they separated in October 2010 before deciding to make their split permanent by filing for divorce. They later revealed that things weren’t as hunky-dory as everyone thought in their happy years too.

Arquette is currently in Israel, where he recently had his Bar Mitzvah and so his lawyers filed the legal paperwork on his behalf in court. In the past two years, both the stars tried their best to somehow jump-start their relationship but it seems all of their efforts failed to do anything good.

Their personalities are regarded as quite opposite to each other’s, which is why their decision to get married had come as a surprise to many people 14 years ago.

During the course of their marriage, they tried  counseling and therapies too, but their problems refused to go away. Two years ago, Arquette moved out from their family home and had a rehab stint shortly after that due to excessive partying.

Despite the looming end to their marriage, they claim that they are still like friends and plan to keep it like that for the sake of their eight-year-old daughter Coco Riley Arquette.
