It’s a well-known fact that Australian actor Chris Hemsworth’s stock is rising at a rapid pace. He is one of the hottest male acotrs in Hollywood right now and is being offered tons of movie roles these days. But last Friday, he landed the most exciting role of his life, as his wife Elsa Pataky gave birth to their first child and made him a first-time daddy.
A source close to the two stars told US Weekly that they welcomed a healthy new-born baby girl on Friday in London and named her India Rose.
Then later in the day, Hemsworth confirmed to USA Today from the UK that the report is completely true and he has now become a father for the very first time. About India’s name, he explained: “We love the country and love the name.”
The 28-year-old Hemsworth, who plays Thor in The Avengers, met his Spanish missus Pataky for the very first time in 2010. They quickly fell in love with each other and got married after just three months of dating, during the Christmas holidays of 2010.
In January 2012, they announced that they are expecting their first child together. After the announcement, Pataky, who is seven years older than her hubby, told ¡Hola! how excited she is to be pregnant and then talked about feeling blessed to be in a relationship with a person like Hemsworth.
“Having the person that you love by your side, and starting a family with them, is the best thing that can happen to you in this life. You can’t ask for more,” she said.
