Charlize Theron Talks about Motherhood

Charlize Theron and baby JacksonWhen Charlize Theron sets her sights on something, more often than not, she ends up achieving it. So there is no surprise that even though she doesn’t have a serious man in her life right now, she fulfilled her desire of experiencing motherhood by means of child adoption.

In March this year, she adopted the then-four-months old baby boy named Jackson but avoided talking about this subject in the press. But that has changed now, as in a recent interview with InStyle magazine, she opened up a bit and said: “Motherhood was something I always knew I wanted. What a great opportunity.”

The 36-year-old actress then revealed that she tries to follow her own mother Gerda Jacoba’s style while parenting her infant son Jackson.

“I can only hope to be 10 percent of the mom mine was to me. She encouraged me to be confident and enjoy life. That’s what I want for my son,” Theron added.

Her desire for having a baby was so strong that even her co-stars had started to feel it. “Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart, who plays the character of Theron’s stepdaughter in the upcoming film “Snow White and the Huntsman,” said: “When there was a baby around she would light up and look like Mother Teresa.”

When InStyle asked how difficult the initial experience of raising a child alone was for her, the famously bold actress used her trademark confident style to say: “So far I’m not surprised by anything about being a mom,” she says. “It’s all pretty great – but that’s what I expected.”

The publication then quizzed if she has any plans of getting her baby a dad, to which Theron replied: “I’m always open to a relationship, but I’m not putting those feelers out there now.”
