R&B diva Beyonce Knowles has addressed the issue of her alleged surrogacy for the very first time. The new mom, who gave birth to Blue Ivy Carter on January 7, told People magazine that there is no truth in media claims that she used surrogacy to bring her firstborn child in this world. Bey said: “It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy. [I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?’ ”

The “Crazy in Love” crooner was strong enough to digest the totally made-up piece of information, but it was clearly too humiliating and upsetting for her mom Tina Knowles.

“I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months. As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous,” Tina said.

Some news agencies had even suggested that Beyonce used a prosthetic belly all these months to fool the press and their suspicion grew stronger when her baby bump shrank a little when she was sitting down for a TV interview in October last year. Tina explained that issue by saying: “It was a fabric that folded – does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid.”

But in the end, the good outweighed the bad and Blue Ivy’s grandmother was quick to point that out too. “There was so much love and well wishes from all over the world – it made it easier to deal with the stupid rumors,” she added.
